Filling
- 1 lb Ground Beef or Lamb
- 1 cup Onion, chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 cup Carrots, diced
- 1 cup Peas
- 2 tablespoon Tomato Paste
- 1 cup Beef Broth
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
Topping
- 4 cups Mashed Potatoes (or Cauliflower Mash for low-carb)
- 2 tablespoon Butter
- 1 cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded (optional)
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or lamb over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, diced carrots, and peas to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender.
Stir in the tomato paste and beef broth. Season with salt and pepper. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish. Spread the mashed potatoes (or cauliflower mash) evenly on top.
Dot the top with butter and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese if using.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
